Michael Alexander
President
Michael Alexander attended the U of H downtown Police Academy while working at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer.After completing the academy, Michael became a part of the at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office family in 2010, Michael has worked on Patrol for 7 years and was later promoted to Detective in 2017 Criminal Investigations where he worked tirelessly in Special Crimes Division to protect the most vulnerable sections of population children and elderly. Michael then promoted to Sergeant where he was assigned to the patrol Division. Michael Alexander became a board member of the Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff’s Association near the end of 2022 and took over as President of the Association in 2023 to stop the Association from shutting down. Since then, the association has grown membership, and regained all nonprofit status, filled and expanded the board, as well as engaged in events and meetings in order to improve the working conditions at the Sheriff’s office.
Michael strives help all employees have a more positive work environment and to improve the overall work conditions for Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
Edwin Vaught
Vice President
I am Seargent Edwin Vaught currently with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. I began my career in law enforcement in February of 1998 in the detention division. Since my time here I have worked as a correctional officer, a Detention Deputy, Patrol Deputy, a Jail Corporal, the investigations Unit, and I am currently assigned to the training academy as an Academy Sergeant. I hold a Master Peace Officer License and a Master Jail license as well as several certifications including Basic Instructor, Firearm instructor, Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor, ALERRT instructor, AAIR instructor, CRASE instructor, Mental Health Officer Certification, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Sexual Assault Investigator and many others as well. I also serve the citizens of Fort Bend and surrounding counties as a member of the Fort Bend County Regional Dive Team. My hobbies and passions are fishing, hunting, diving, teaching my four kids about life and sharing my love for all things outdoors with my wife of 15 years.

Lesley Vaught
Secretary
I am Seargent Lesley Vaught currently with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. I began my career working in the Detention Division in 2001. During my career, I have held many roles such as, Detention Officer, Deputy, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, Detective, and Sergeant. I hold a Master Peace Officer License and several certifications including Basic Instructor, Sexual Assault and Advanced Sexual Assault Investigator. Outside of Law Enforcement I am a mother of four (4) who loves to hunt, fish, and spend time with my family.
Brandan Marcus

My name is Brandan Marcus and I am employed with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. I began employment at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in September 2002, and have served in various units / positions in the agency to include Corrections, Patrol, Field Training Officer, Patrol Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, SWAT Team, Gang Investigator, and Fugitive Apprehension Unit. I am currently serving as an Undercover Narcotics Investigator with the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force. I am trained and certified as a Police Instructor, Hostage Negotiator, and Mental Health Peace Officer. My current instructor certifications include Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT), Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (Active Shooter), Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR), and Reality Based Training. In 2005, I was recognized and awarded the “Officer of the Year” accolade, by the Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
In September 2011, I took a leave of absence for about nine months and became an instructor for the Security Training Program with the Public Safety & Security Division of the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). I provided training in infrastructure protection, law enforcement, and security practices to include defensive tactics, firearms manipulation, hand-to-hand, IED awareness and detection, and crowd control for members of the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. I also assisted the Mobile Training Team with instructing Train the Trainer courses to high-level officers within the CNIA, and collaborated to develop new curriculum and delivery of the established material.
Prior to my career in law enforcement, I served four years in the U. S. Army as an Infantryman with one year being as a team leader. I supervised soldiers on a four-month deployment to Camp Demi, Bosnia where vehicle and foot patrols were conducted. I maintained proficiency with the M4 Rifle, M9 Pistol, M249 Squad Automatic Rifle (SAW), M203 Grenade Launcher, and the M240-B Machine Gun. I also attended Basic Airborne School and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.
Kara - Lea Roberts

Sgt. Kara-Lea Roberts began her career at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in 2005. Sgt. Roberts has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. Sgt. Roberts has worked in the Emergency Communications, Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Detention Divisions. Her current assignment is the PREA Compliance Manager in the Detention Bureau Investigations Unit. Sgt. Roberts holds the role of Team Leader for SWAT- Crisis Negotiations and a Team Leader for the Sheriff’s Office Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Outside of work, Sgt. Roberts fills her time with family, friends, music, and travel.
Glen Duran
Board Member
Glen Duran was raised in Fort Bend County. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1989 and started his career in law enforcement with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division in 1990. He was hired by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 and attended the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy Class #54 during this time. He is currently a senior sergeant for the Detention Division on Evening Shift where he also serves as an FTO training supervisor for the shift.
Glen holds a Master Peace Officer and Master Jailer License through TCOLE. He also holds several certifications and serves as a Peer Support member for PCIS and the FBCSO CISM Team. He was recently voted in as a board member for the FBCDSA. He has been employed at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office for over 20 years.
Away from work, Glen is a husband, a father of 4 daughters, 1 son, 1 son in law and grandfather to 1 grandson.
Hossam "Sam" Asaad

Hossam Asaad started his law enforcement career in 2013 as a Civilian Jailer for the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. In January of 2017, Hossam Asaad attended the University of Downtown Houston Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) in Houston, Texas as a Police Cadet (Class 297). Upon graduation from the University of Houston Downtown (BPOC) September 2017, Hossam Asaad transitioned into a Deputy Sheriff curtsey carried commission while working in the Fort Bend County Jail. Hossam Asaad transitioned to patrol at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in January 2018. Hossam Asaad has completed multiple courses throughout his career to include: SFST 24-hour Course, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE), Accident Reconstruction Courses, TX DPS Advanced Transportation Code (TRC) Course, BOSCH CDR technician and analyst. Hossam Asaad is also a certified instructor. Hossam Asaad is a Crash Reconstructionist, and a member of the Fort Bend County Fatality Crash Team. Hossam Asaad is currently assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. Hossam Asaad’s duties have included traffic enforcement, DWI enforcement, accident investigation/reconstruction, and general enforcement of state laws.
Jilverto Escamilla
Board Member
Deputy Jilverto Escamilla grew up in Needville TX. He graduated from Needville High School in 2002. He started employment with the FBCSO in April 2005 as a DOC. He was promoted to Inmate Processing Unit Deputy in June 2007. In February 2014 he was transferred to the Federal Transport Unit. In February 2016/current he was transferred to Administrative Deputy and PREA/Background Investigator.
