CIVIL SERVICE PLAN REVIEW (DRAFT VERSION)
To all Sheriff's Office Employees:
A letter from Earnest Taylor (Chairman of the FBCSO Civil Service Commission):
Lieutenant Quam, as per our conversation in Chief Brady’s office on Friday, January 20, 2012, I am providing you with the latest DRAFT of the proposed Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations. It is the belief of the commission that all effected individuals should have an opportunity to review these rules and regulations and make orderly written comments and recommendations. Please make the draft rules and regulations available to your members and help us as needed to make sure all relevant concerns, if any, are addressed and/or considered by members of the Civil Service Commission. To assist with this process, I have also attached a form (copy and needed) to be used to identify issues, explain concern/s and make recommendations for consideration by the commission. I trust that you or your designee will coordinate this opportunity and will forward to the commission only relevant issues that are in the best interest of employees, administration and the tax payers of this county. REQUEST FOR OUR SUGGESTIONS
Below you will see a link to the current draft of the FBCSO civil service system. We have been requested to review this draft and provide suggestions using the commissions form (also a link below). These documents have been posted in both word and pdf format to ensure you have the ability to open and review the documents. The FBCDSA has been requested to be the liason to the Civil Service Commission enabling them to swiftly and justly adopt and start to administer a civil service system. To this request we are publishing the proposed documents and request any of your suggestions be emailed to
simpson@fbcdsa.org or given to your representative.
The period for suggestions will be from today 1/24/2012 through 2/12/2012. A committee will then be formed to review all suggestions and combine them into a response to the commission. We have been asked for this to be a swift but carefully controlled process to allow the commission to do their job and give us an opportunity to voice our concerns in a very professional manner.
