Dear Outstanding High School Student:

Do you have an interest in law enforcement or criminal justice?  We are offering students from Fort Bend ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD, Katy ISD, Stafford MSD, and Needville ISD high schools the opportunity to join other teenagers in planning and operating your own Law Enforcement Explorer Post sponsored by the Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. You will learn with guidance from qualified adult Advisors and law enforcement instructors from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. The Explorer Post is managed by you - students elect their own peer leadership like: president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, activity coordinator.  Exploring can be an informative and fun way to help you prepare for the future and learn about law enforcement from the professionals in law enforcement while gaining hands-on experience.

You are invited to visit any meeting at the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy on the first and third Thursday of each month from 7 – 8:30 PM to learn how Law Enforcement Exploring works. The address to the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy is:

1521 Eugene Heimann Circle, Richmond, TX 77469

It is directly adjacent to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and Jail complex.

You are welcome to bring a friend and your parents.

If you decide to join, we will collect $11 for the annual enrollment fee for Exploring.  As an Explorer, you will learn important skills, such as teambuilding, public speaking, and interviewing as well as first-hand experience with some of the tools and skills used by deputies of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.  You will also learn how to organize your time to accomplish tasks for school and for extracurricular activities.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 281-341-4797.  You can also learn more through the website: (www.learningforlife.org).  Just click on the Exploring icon for more information. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming meetings on December 2, 2010 and December 16, 2010.

Sincerely,

Robert

Open Invitation to All S.O. Employees:

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, with the support of Sheriff Wright and Chief Deputy Brady and in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America – Learning For Life, is proud to announce the formation of a Law Enforcement Explorer Post at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. Law Enforcement Exploring is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 years of age, or are 15 years of age but have not yet reached their 21st birthday.

Law Enforcement Explorer posts help youth to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities. For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, Exploring offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth.

We Need Volunteers!

We have volunteer opportunities available for the following positions:
